About Buckingham Tutors Publishing
Buckingham Tutors Publishing was founded in 1986 by Sidney Callis, after a long career concentrated on HRD/ management training. He lived and worked in South East Asia for over 35 years. A graduate of the University of London, and originally a practicing Chartered Accountant, he made a mid-life career change to specialise in the field of Human Resource Development, with particular emphasis on various aspects of communication.
He has worked with many organisations in both the public and private sectors, and presented seminars on both communication and finance topics in many places. Audiences appreciate his fluent, lucid and entertaining style.
After "retiring" back to the UK he now travels widely to carry out consulting assignments for international agencies as well as private clients in the Caribbean, Africa, South America, Eastern Europe, Russia and South East Asia.
Buckingham Tutors Publishing is located in the university town of Buckingham, in the county of Buckinghamshire, England. The town was founded more than 1000 years ago when its strategic and easily defensible position, within a wide loop of the River Ouse, made it an important stronghold in turbulent times. The famous royal palace in London takes its name from the Duke of Buckingham of the day who sold his London residence — Buck House — to King George III to accommodate the King's large family. This was at the end of the 18th century. Shakespeare's Duke was about three centuries earlier!

Today the town is a typical small English market town, set amidst rich farmlands, with an easygoing lifestyle. The town centre is mostly Georgian (mid 18th century). Our own Old School House dates from the mid 19th century. Several "great houses" and charming villages are nearby.
We identify ourselves with Buckingham by using the County symbol of Buckinghamshire — the chained swan — as part of our logo.
